Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Blender or Vitamix
  • 1 Cocktail mixer/shaker
  • 2 Margarita glasses

Materials

  • 4 Cups Cubed Watermelon
  • ¾ C Sugar
  • 4 Basil Leaves
  • 4 Slices Jalapeño
  • 4 oz Jalapeño Lime Juice Trader Joe’s
  • 4 oz Tequila Blanco
  • Soda Water

Instructions

  • In a glass bowl, top cubed watermelon with sugar, basil, jalapeño and mix well. Allow to sit for at least two hours, mixing occasionally.
  • Place the mixture into a blender and mix well. Strain into a separate container.
  • In a cocktail mixer, add 8 oz of the watermelon mixture, 4 oz jalapeño lime juice, 4 oz tequila and ice. Shake well and strain over ice.
  • Top with soda water and lime.
  • Save the reserved watermelon juice for later.
  • Enjoy your refreshing and unique Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita!

Notes

For a less sweet version, reduce the amount of sugar used.
Adjust the amount of jalapeno slices used based on your desired level of spiciness.
Use fresh lime juice instead of soda water for an extra tangy twist.
