FineMark Internally Managed Strategies

FineMark Internally Managed Strategies offers two internally created investment strategies: the Core and the Dividend. The Core strategy is designed to outperform the S&P 500; the Dividend strategy focuses on income-generating equities.

Investments

Core Strategy

The objective of the FineMark Core Strategy is to outperform the returns of the S&P 500 over a market cycle. The fund applies a top-down and bottom-up stock pick approach. Sector weights are first determined by top-down macroeconomic analysis. Then our equity ranking model uses a unique blend of quantitative and fundamental analysis to identify alpha generating stocks. The quantitative portion of the model employs factors that have proven to be valuable in forecasting future excess returns. These return factors, ranging from valuation ratios to sentiment measures, help generate alpha. The strategy is not constrained to being overweight value or growth and may be overweight one or the other, depending upon the managers’ macroeconomic views. The strategy will be concentrated with 40 to 50 holdings.

Money Market Accounts

Dividend Strategy

The portfolio seeks to provide dividend yield of 1.25x that of the Russell 1000 Value Index and applies a stock selection approach. Prior to 2018, the strategy had a dividend yield that was at least 1.5x that of the S&P 500 Index. Sector weights are first determined by top-down macro analysis. Our equity ranking model then uses a unique blend of quantitative and fundamental analysis to identify alpha generating stocks. The quantitative portion of the model employs factors that have proven to be valuable in forecasting future excess returns. These return factors, ranging from valuation ratios to sentiment measures, help generate alpha. The strategy will be concentrated with a target number of holdings at 35. The Dividend composite performance is compared against Russell 1000 Value.

Investment Implementation

FineMark believes that no one firm, including our own, can create all investment solutions. This is why we utilize an open architecture platform that allows us to choose from a fully vetted list of external managers, two equity strategies managed by FineMark Internally Managed Strategies or a combination that’s right for you. Having the flexibility to choose from a variety of available investments, based on your goals and risk tolerance, enables us to create a custom portfolio.
