LEE HEALTH FOUNDATION PRESENTS HUMANITARIAN AWARD TO CATTI
Recognition given for outstanding leadership in the advancement of quality for the citizens of Southwest Florida
(Fort Myers, Fla. – Dec. 16, 2016) — Lee Health Foundation is pleased to announce that Joseph R. Catti, President and CEO of FineMark National Bank & Trust in Fort Myers, is this year’s recipient of the Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award. Mr. Catti was honored at Lee Health Foundation’s Evening of Appreciation, held on Nov. 30, which hosted nearly 300 of Lee Health’s most committed donors and supporters.
Mr. Catti was recognized for his many years as a Lee Health supporter, most notably as the chairperson of Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida’s $100 million capital campaign. Thanks to Mr. Catti’s leadership and unwavering commitment to bringing “America’s Newest Children’s Hospital” to Southwest Florida, countless young patients and their families will receive life-saving care at a world-class hospital close to home.
“I am honored and humbled and feel undeserving of this recognition,’ said Mr. Catti. “We are very fortunate to have a world class health system and excellent physician care in Southwest Florida. There are so many people in our community who give and help others selflessly. As Harry Truman once said, ‘It is amazing what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.’”
Currently serving on Lee Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, Mr. Catti is also a past chair & treasurer of Lee Health Foundation, past member of Lee Health Foundation finance & executive committees, a member of Lee Health Foundation’s Heritage Circle of Friends Legacy Society, and has volunteered his time and expertise to several organizations throughout Southwest Florida. Mr. Catti is also father to four children with wife Jo Ann of more than 30 years.
“Joe has been an integral part of making the Golisano Children’s Hospital dream a reality,” said Skip Leonard, chief foundation officer for Lee Health Foundation. “As Chair of the Golisano Children’s Hospital capital campaign, he worked tirelessly to ensure we met the $100 million goal. He embodies all that the Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award signifies. Congratulations to Joe…Well deserved!”
The Frank Haskell Humanitarian Award is given to a deserving recipient annually, and recognizes outstanding leadership in the advancement of quality health care for the citizens of Southwest Florida. The award is named in honor of Frank Haskell, co-founder with his wife Betty, of Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund, part of Lee Health Foundation. For the past 20 years, Mr. Haskell has worked non-stop to help local children win their battles with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders.
