FineMark National Bank & Trust Sees Increasing Demand for Independent Wealth Management Services
Charleston, SC (May, 16 2019) – Michael Drohan, president of FineMark National Bank & Trust, Charleston, is pleased to announce the hire of Wendy W. Kopp as senior vice president of private wealth and John Brittingham as vice president and private wealth advisor. The team brings nearly 50 years of collective experience to FineMark. Together, the two reflect an expansion of the local team and enhancement of the bank’s client-focused service model in order to serve a growing market.
The Charleston region has quickly become one of the fastest-growing cities for business growth, with development at a much higher rate than the national average. Nearly 30 people move to the Charleston area every day – with a higher-than-normal median income, the area is a natural attractor for businesses and high-income families. According to the recently released 2018 Best Performing Cities report by the Milken Institute, Charleston is one of the Top 25 Best-Performing cities, as defined by economic growth. Economic growth has also led to an expanding private banking sector as well, with demand leading to increased financial services and capabilities to serve this growing sector of the local population. The city’s coastal location is also an attractor for retirees and the high-net-worth communities.
“Charleston is a unique place. Due to its charm and easy-going nature, the city has become a draw for global industry, as well as professionals and families, leading to incredible economic development. Private wealth services are no exception and we’ve seen significantly increased demand,” said Drohan. “Wendy and John have extensive experience working with families, giving them the insight needed to serve with the intimate level of service our clients have come to expect.”
Mrs. Kopp develops new relationships, while overseeing existing trust and investment relationships in the Charleston market. Mr. Brittingham works directly with individuals and families, focusing on comprehensive wealth planning.
